Treacle Tart
Serves 6

6 oz all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 oz sugar
4 oz cold butter
3 Tbs cold water

1 lb treacle or golden syrup
2 oz fresh breadcrumbs
1 oz softened butter

Make pastry as per usual. Roll two-thirds to line pie plate; cut
the rest into strips for lattice.

Mix filling ingredients; spread into pie; place lattice on top.
Bake for 25-30 mins at 400F / 200C / Gas 6.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream.
