Pear Tart

2 eggs
1/4 c milk
3/4 C sugar
pinch salt
1 1/2 c flour
2 lbs pears
9" round cake pan
butter
1/2 dry unflavored bread crumbs (or corn meal)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat eggs and milk together. Add
sugar and a pinch of salt and continue beathing. Add flour and
mix thoroughly into a compact batter. Peal pears (I use yellow
pears with thin skins and don't peal them), cut out core, and cut
into thin slices 1" wide. Add pears to batter and mix. Coat pan
with butter (Pam works well too) and sprinkle pan lightly with
bread crumbs. Remove excess crumbs and then add batter. Add butter
to top and stud with cloves. I generously sprinkle ground cloves
on top and swirl them into the batter instead. Put tart in upper
1/3 of heated oven and bake for 50 minutes.

Variation: Add a few fresh figs.
