Peanut Butter Pie

1 baked pie shell
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup corn starch
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 cup scalded milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 tsp.vanilla
3 egg whites for meringue
1 tbsp. butter

Combine powdered sugar and peanut butter until the appearance of
biscuit mix. spread half of this mixture over the pie shell.

Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt and scalded milk. Pour small amount
over the beaten egg yolks. mix well, then return to the milk mixture.
Cook in top half of a double boiler until mixture thickens. add
butter and vanilla; pour into pie shell and top with meringue.

Sprinkle remainder of peanut butter mix over meringue; Bake at 325F
until brown.
