Mock Cherry Pie

1 1/2 cups cranberries, washed and picked over
1 1/2 cups raisins
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup water
1 tblsp all-purpose flour
1 tblsp butter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Preheat oven to 450.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, raisins, sugar,
water and flour. Cook until cranberries open and mixture thickens.
Allow to cool and stir in butter and vanilla.

Pour into prepared pie crust and cover with top crust.

Cut slits in top crust and bake for 10 minutes. Lower heat to 350F
and bake for 35 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown.
Let cool and set before serving.
